Mark Jordan – Solicitor
Mark has been practising for over 20 years and has gained substantial experience in Wills & Estates law practicing in private law firms and, most recently, as a Senior Lawyer in a national trustee company. He specialises in Wills and Estate Planning, Estate litigation and Inheritance claims and Probate applications.
Mark is a member of the Succession Law Committee of the Law Society of South Australia and was a founding member of the Branch Committee of the Society of Trust & Estates Practitioners (South Australian branch). He has regularly presented and chaired legal professional development sessions and presents to legal practitioners, financial advisors and the public on Wills & Estates.
He was also the Course Supervisor of the Wills & Estates Unit of the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (GDLP) run by the Law Society of South Australia and Adelaide University for a number of years, including designing the course and assisting in facilitating workshops and marking papers for GDLP students.
Mark is also a Notary Public and is able to witness and verify documents required for use in overseas jurisdictions.
Richard Jackson – Solicitor
Richard practises in estate planning, deceased estate administration and deceased estate litigation. His focus is to provide his clients with exceptional service by ensuring he understands their needs to deliver commercial advice and results.
He is experienced in preparing all types of Wills for his clients. These can be standard documents through to comprehensive estate plans that ensure his client’s personal assets, company held assets, trust held assets and superannuation entitlements are transferred in accordance with their wishes while providing asset protection and tax advantages to his client’s family. Richard also advises clients on business succession, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds.
Richard acts for executors and administrators of deceased estates in obtaining grants of probate and letters of administration and he also acts for families experiencing problems when a deceased’s Will is lost, informal or unclear. He also acts for executors and beneficiaries in resolving disputes over deceased estates. He prepares court applications for clients seeking further provision from an estate or who are challenging the validity of a Will and he acts for clients who are beneficiaries of a Will and who need to defend a claim against the Will.
Richard is experienced in appearing at Court and attending Settlement Conferences and Mediations on behalf of his clients involved in deceased estate disputes.
Harry Wall – Solicitor
Harry has experience in drawing Wills both simple and complex along with Enduring Powers of Attorney and Advance Care Directives. He also has experience assisting executors and administrators in obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration and, if requested, can also provide advice and assistance with the due and proper administration of deceased estates.
Harry also acts for clients in estate disputes with a focus on attempting to obtain a negotiated settlement to prevent the estate being unnecessarily burdened with significant Court and legal costs.
With a friendly demeanour, Harry is prepared to go the extra mile to provide a high level of service for his clients.
George Capaldo – Solicitor
George enjoys providing clients with practical legal advice with his friendly and approachable manner.
Before joining Carpenter & Associates, George gained experience at a number of private law firms before specialising in the area of Wills & Estates. He can assist clients with their estate planning needs, applications for grants of representation and the administration of deceased estates. His practice also extends to advice in relation to contested estates.
George studied at the University of South Australia and has a double degree Bachelor of Laws & Bachelor of Management (Human Resources) and a Bachelor of Commerce.
He is a member of the Law Society of South Australia.
Kym Jackson – Solicitor
Kym has considerable experience in all aspects of succession law, having practised predominantly in this area for his entire career. Kym’s aim is always to provide practical advice that is easy to understand and implement. In difficult situations involving complex probate applications or disputed estates, clients are re-assured by Kym’s calm manner and his focus on achieving their goals without getting bogged down in legal processes or needless disputes.
Kym is a member of the Succession Law Committee of the Law Society of South Australia.
He also has extensive experience in civil and commercial law and litigation, as well as commercial and property law, and has spent over 2 years in local government administration in commercial and managerial roles. Kym brings a wide variety of legal, governmental and commercial experience to Carpenter & Associates.
